Many companies have a grand mission statement, a ”BIG VISION” about who they are and what they represent. In the timber flooring business, this usually involves: sustainability, illegal forestry, recycling, environmental management etc.

These are all very important issues that have been built into the SE company DNA from the beginning as re-purposers and salvagers. But these big picture ideas do not constitute the SE vision or sense of social responsibility. The SE VISION is a “small vision” arrived at by accident and resulting from the process of company building from scratch.

Over the last 7 years of growth and development the support of the local community has become the most relevant and rewarding benefit to the SE founders – becoming aware that the ability to provide jobs and support the community base is the highest responsibility of small business. Salvage Europe is located in a very small community with limited opportunities for ordinary people and talented young people alike.
